Native American tribes used face painting for many different reasons. Sometimes face paints were used during naming ceremonies, where different colors and symbols meant different things.
Preprimary students have been painting their own faces using a mirror to mimic the design on each card. Leo has done a nice job of matching the image on his card. It took all my strength not to pull up a chair, pick a card and do the same.
