The New School Montessori offers 6 weeks of summer programming for 3- to 12-year-olds. We call this Summer Program I and II.

  • Parents may schedule from 2 to 6 weeks of summer programming.
  • Part-time care until 1:00 is available for 3- and 4-year olds.
  • Full-time care is from 8AM to 5:30PM.
  • Lunch is provided and is included in the cost of summer program tuition.
  • Program I offers a Montessori centered program for preprimary children, and Program II is for elementary-age children.

What activities are available for preprimary children in Summer Program I?

  • Summer is a wonderful time for children new to Preprimary to begin making friends and to be oriented to the school’s environment through consistent and routine activities.
  • Classrooms are equipped with Montessori materials that invite children to learn and practice new skills.
  • Children enjoy our shaded Preprimary Woods where they climb honeysuckle  trees, dig in our sandbox, garden, play on the climbers, slide, ride trikes and on warm days, enjoy a dip in our wading pool.
  • At times, various speakers from the Cincinnati Zoo or Hamilton County Parks stop by with interesting creatures for the children to observe and learn about.

What activities are available for elementary children in Summer Program II?

  • Students in Program II at TNSM take field trips and enjoy weekly visits to the Clifton Swim Club.
  • They also enjoy the elementary woods where they create huts under the trees and climb on the play equipment.
  • Some take part in additional programming we call summer camp. Area professionals offer art, drumming, drama and more – all here at TNSM. There is an additional fee if your child wishes to take part in one of these summer camp opportunities.
