Dear Friends and Families of The New School Montessori,
We are pleased to announce our 3rd Annual “TNSM Rocks” event on February 6, 2016. This has been a successful and fun event combining fundraising and community building. In case you are new to the school, or new to the event, here is a brief description of what the night is all about.
We gather together at The Northside Tavern, who has graciously hosted our event for the past two years, for a friendly game of “Skareoke” backed by Cincinnati Live Band Karaoke (boasting keyboard/bass/singer extraordinaire Paul Brumm, TNSM parent). Skareoke is karaoke with a twist. You may sign up to sing, OR you may also sign up your friends and family to sing…BUT for a price! Here’s a quick rundown of how the game is played. The more you sing, the more money we raise! We will accept credit cards and receipts will be available upon request for tax purposes.
- $10- sing one song
- $10-“Skareoke” or dare someone else to sing a song of YOUR choice
- $20-Pay to reject a Skareoke
- $50-Double Dog Dare-you may only get DDD one time for the evening and you MUST sing, UNLESS…
- $100-Pay to reject a Double Dog Dare
2016 brings a new element to our game, raising the stakes and fundraising to a new high.
Introducing, the “Sponsorship Showcase!”
$200 (or more) pledge gives you the opportunity to really show us your singing and performance skills! Perform in front of the New School Family as well as a panel of local celebrity judges to win a trophy designed and crafted by our own beloved art teacher Robin Kusten Hartmann. Get out your best Freddy Mercury onesie, or your most outrageous Cyndi Lauper attire and have some fun! Teams or “bands” are encouraged to participate as well.

Music starts at 8:00 PM, sponsorship showcase begins at 9:30 with more karaoke after the showcase!
