Bloom

Dear Friends,

As you may have noticed, an email invitation was sent out for you to join the TNSM community at our annual auction party (March 11). This year we will be in Northside at the Factory. I absolutely love this TNSM event. Staff, along with current and alumni families, come together for a truly delightful evening. The insanely talented Montvales will be providing live music, and Eatwell will be serving up delicious bites. A free valet service will be provided as well, so you don’t have to worry about parking! So what are you waiting for? Secure your babysitter, pick out something fun to wear, and buy your tickets today!

This year our auction theme is BLOOM. As we begin transformational projects on our campus, starting with the Kaleidoscope Center and extending to our new green space adjacent to the Ginkgo House, we are eager to double down on our commitment to Earth stewardship and building relationships between our students and nature. With an emphasis on green design for our new arts and community center scheduled to break ground this summer, we are also creating plans for how to increase the biodiversity on campus.

Last winter we were thrilled to acquire, as a partial gift from a neighbor, the property adjacent to the Ginkgo House. This extraordinary family embraced our vision for the space which included a green sanctuary for students to learn, gather, and commune with nature. They shared that TNSM is…

“…an organization that’s clearly aligned with our family’s values: the importance of a quality education, embracing diversity in all of its forms, and respecting yourself, others and the planet. There is indeed mutual resonance.

With joy, our parents embraced TNSM when it first opened its doors on Burton Woods Lane and when you literally became our neighbor. With confidence, TNSM was selected to provide the external nurture and foundation to those we hold dear (our children and nieces).

Now {our} daughters – Candace & Camille – make us all proud. Candace is pursuing her PhD at Yale University and Camille, a Rhodes Scholar, is a 2020 graduate from Oxford University and is pursuing her PhD at Princeton University. Their success in and commitment to bringing out the best in themselves and others answers the question posted on your website: “Will a Montessori Education Prepare Students for the Real World?”

This year’s Raise the Paddle at the auction will go toward cultivating this new space into pollinating gardens, natural gathering spaces, and increasing the variety of native species on our campus. I mean, can you think of a better thing to support?!

As if there weren’t already a plethora of reasons to join us on March 11th, you will also be blown away by what our families and alumni have offered up for our live auction and community parties!

The live auction will provide TNSM families an opportunity to bid on get-aways to Florida, beautiful cabins in Driggs, Idaho (very close to Jackson Hole), retreat lodging in Hocking Hills, and remarkable staycation packages to an award-winning airbnb in OTR, the Netherlands Hilton downtown, along with a variety of gift certificates to restaurants, theaters, and breweries! We will also be auctioning off amazing student-produced art, in-home Montessori consultations, pop-up picnics, and so much more!

If you attend, you can also sign up for community parties hosted by TNSM families that range from adult bourbon tastings, to all-age gatherings like the poolside Hawaiian Luau or the super popular camping with Robby family overnight!

I’ll see you there!

Best,
Jeff Groh
