Dear TNSM Staff and Families, As many of you know John, my husband, was recently hospitalized and had surgery for a ruptured aneurysm. He was in the ICU for 12 days at Good Samaritan Hospital where he received exceptional care and kindness. As difficult and scary as this has been for our family, it is also true that we have had the most amazing support from our friends and family including our New School family. Photo exhibit remains on display through the weekend.

If you missed seeing TNSM’s after-school photography club’s exhibit, you’ll want to stop by downstairs in the Multi-purpose Room to check it out. The club’s leader, Tracy Clancy has agreed to keep the exhibit up through the pancake breakfast this Saturday.  

Pancakes and Poetry this Saturday

Save some space in your day and space in your stomach for our pancake breakfast this Saturday, May 10 from 8:30-11:30. Breakfast includes pancakes, fruit ,turkey sausage and eggs served by TNSM 4th, 5th and 6th grade students. This is a perfect  opportunity to invite friends and family to experience TNSM. Join the students in their study of classic poetry as they perform live readings in the Gallery space of the Enrichment Center and share a favorite poem or your own original work in an “Open Mic.” Families are also invited to the Art Room of the Enrichment Center to turn words into tangible art to take home. Photo Club Exhibit

Clo’s day as director

Clo began the morning by greeting TNSM students in her director t-shirt as classmates donned their wacky clothes. Throughout the course of the day, students enjoyed: a theatrical production from Playhouse in the Park a fire drill (with Clo nervously turning the alarm key) time outdoors a pizza lunch and more. Nature Center Field Trip Photos

Eric Brouwer shared his photos from the recent 6th grade and preprimary Nature Center field trip. It looks like they had a beautiful spring day of flowers, trees in bloom and creek walks in bare feet. Enjoy the slide show!  

Student Art Displayed

Elementary students studied Degas’ paintings of horses, jockeys and ballet dancers and used pastels to create their own Degas-inspired works. The pastels will be hung in the Growing Room to be displayed during the Pancake and Poetry Breakfast on Saturday, May 10. Students also took images from magazines, cut them in half and then drew the other half of the image back in. The half-and-half images are on display now in the Enrichment Center.
