Celebrating our community

Hello Friends,

The staff got together after school to celebrate our community, our campus, Earth Day and the life of Emilia Lewis. We planted a magnolia tree, some colorful flowers and painted rocks to be placed among them. Inspired by the artist Andy Goldsworthy and our students’ work based on the artist, we created “nature art” of our own -spelling out TNSM in natural materials found in the elementary woods. It was a celebration of all the lives and natural beauty we are blessed by.

Our 4th and 5th graders spent Tuesday through Thursday exploring Cincinnati. They visited Krohn Conservatory, Cincinnati Art Museum and had dinner in Mt Adams. They enjoyed the play, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown at Playhouse in the Park. They also visited Carew Tower, Findlay Market, Operation City Quest, the Contemporary Art Center’s UnMuseum, B&B Riverboat historic tour and Jungle Jim’s. Our students also took some to to help out at Matthew 25,  had an overnight at Union Terminal and had loads of fun getting to know their city.

The kindergartners are hard at work preparing for their play on Friday, May 3 and some of our (6-9) students learned how to present a 3-minute talk in a succinct and captivating way.

All in all, we had a blast.

Have a great weekend,
Jeff Groh
