Students learn an important skill – saving a life

New School Montessori 6th graders have been learning and practicing an important life skill. Through the American Heart Association’s program for schools, our sixth graders practiced chest compressions on their individual mannequins to the beat of a song by the BeeGees called, “Staying Alive.” The rhythm of the song matches the frequency with which the hands-only CPR compressions are delivered. All the 6th graders agree that learning CPR was an excellent practical life skill.
