Harvest Moon Potluck Picnic

Hello TNSM Friends,

The Harvest Moon Festival is one of the longest standing traditions at TNSM. It is a time to celebrate our diverse community, welcome back alumni, meet new families, and develop lifelong friendships.

Here’s what to expect:

When: Saturday, September 24 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Where: The New School Montessori (Outside)

What to bring:

  • Homemade dish to share: The event is a potluck, so bring a homemade dish to share with a label explaining what it is. As we highlight our rich diversity, please bring a dish representing your family and your background. (We will provide paper plates, cups, and plasticware.)

  • Your beverages: Harvest Moon is a BYOB event, so bring whatever you would like to drink.  (We provide cups and water.)

  • Blankets / camp chairs: We will gather in the (3-6) woods this year to eat after having gone through the buffet line of potluck dishes, sides and desserts in the Growing Room.

  • Sweater:  It can get chilly later, so dress for the weather.

  • Flashlight: The sun sets at 7:30, so it can get dark quickly.

  • Bug Spray: Our preprimary and elementary woods can be buggy.

Child Care: There will be an adult volunteer supervising in the upper elementary woods, however, parents will need to supervise their own children. Due to the casual and crowded atmosphere of this event, parents are ultimately responsible for the whereabouts of their children.

Fun:  We’ll have lots of time for visiting and enjoying family-friendly activities.
