The auction was amazing!!! When The New School Montessori community comes together, great things happen. The Sleepy Bee and Aster team were absolutely phenomenal! The food was delicious (Thank you, Frannie), the space was beautiful, DJ Lani Love put us in good spirits, and the Stagnaro family, the Rambergs, and Mary Hanley were kind enough to donate wine and beer.
The evening was full of positive energy created by a community of people who love TNSM. Alumni families, staff members from the 1970s, current staff and families, and alumni students came together to celebrate the past, present and future of our school.
The auction committee (Jessica Poole, Morgan Rich, Doug Sackin, Alison Dearden, Ryonen Ignatius, Robin Hartmann, Tara Haas, Missy Schade, Sherri Besso, Farrah Jackson, Lydia Neiheisel, Ann Baumgardner, Rob Clark, Jamie Harder) put in SO many hours to ensure the evening looked easy and comfortable for all of us. The behind-the-scenes, roll-up-your-sleeves, scramble-plan-problem-solve-keep-smiling-superstars, made it all happen. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Lastly, the outpouring of generosity was nothing short of awe inspiring. Not only were the live and silent auction a success, but we raised over $50,000 for our Montessori Kitchen. In other words, with the gift from the Gross Hutton Foundation, we have $150,000 to make our lunch program a model for the country. Hands-on, eco-friendly, delicious, homemade lunches for every child – every day. From $5,000 gifts to $50 gifts, we each did our part to make this dream come true. We can’t thank you enough for this display of love and faith in our program.
Here is the video we shared at the auction describing the scope of the project. A big thank you to Joe Harrison and his crew from Optic Lizard Productions! If the video inspires you, we are still open for donations to cover the costs of the kitchen. Click HERE to give.
