As we prepare for the close of the school year, we like to thank parents during drop-off with bagels, fruit, coffee and conversation.
For the past few years on the Saturday before Mother’s Day, we’ve enjoyed a hearty breakfast of pancakes, fruit and turkey sausage served by TNSM students.
It’s a great opportunity to visit with friends, alumni, neighbors and other TNSM staff and parents while also enjoying a fabulous art show of students’ work.
Tickets can be purchased at the door for $7/ person or $25/ family.
You are welcome to attend TNSM Board meetings usually held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. We have 10-12 parent board members each year who meet with administrative staff to help guide the business and mission of the school.
Each year, New School Montessori sixth graders embark on a year-long odyssey, researching a topic of interest to them. They condense their fifteen-page papers into riveting 5-minute oral Power Point presentations. In the span of a pleasant evening you can learn about many interesting topics and characters from history.
Our alumni often return to the school to support this year’s 6th graders. They’ve shared that their Senior Project experience prepared them – not only for the rigors of junior high and high school – but for writing, public speaking and the joy of learning they have experienced in their university studies and in their careers.
All are welcome to attend. It’s something special to see.

Please join us in celebrating the music of TNSM’s orchestra. We are thrilled to have Melissa Robinson, former NKU director of strings and TNSM parent, leading our orchestra program as she challenges and engages the children in their music.

Elementary-age students practice the independence and confidence they’ve built throughout the year in a new setting with new challenges at Camp Ernst. Students receive encouragement and cheers of support from teachers, classmates and parent chaperones as they wobble across rope bridges, glide through treetops on zip lines and rope swings, ring bells on climbing walls, paddle kayaks, and more. It’s a wonderful time to get to know one another better on this 2-day and 1-night adventure while watching students’ confidence soar as they reach one milestone after another.
