Each year, as several positions on the board become available, the board plans an informal meeting on the Mansion Porch. Current Board Members hand out ballots to parents to vote on the slate they’ve chosen to represent the parent community.
Coffee is served at the gathering and you can meet the board members and ask any questions.
Students and parent volunteers are invited to walk on a course through TNSM’s campus to raise important funds for the New School Montessori. Students will receive pledges from friends and family for their time spent walking. It’s fun for the whole family!
We have 12 parent board members each year who meet with administrative staff to help guide the business and mission of the school. You are welcome to attend TNSM Board meetings usually held on the 3rd Tuesday of most months.
Each year, 4th and 5th grade students, chaperones and teachers spend time visiting a location that is a bit farther from home than a simple field trip. Students plan their trip with their teachers and research the sights they’ll see. Each year we alternate between visiting Columbus’ museums and highlights or Marengo Caves in Indiana. In spring of 2019, students will be exploring the sights in and around Columbus, OH.
Please join us for our spring open house. Invite family, neighbors and friends to visit. Teachers, board members and staff are available to answer questions, to give tours and to facilitate the discovery process as children explore the environment.
TNSM kindergartners have been working hard on both their dramatic play and their art show for families and fellow students. We hope you’ll you’ll be able to attend the play at 9AM. The art show will be on display this week in the preprimary art room and will remain up for the pancake breakfast and art show.
For many years we’ve enjoyed a hearty breakfast of pancakes, fruit and turkey sausage served by TNSM students. It’s a great opportunity to visit with friends, alumni, neighbors and other TNSM staff and parents while also enjoying a fabulous art show of students’ work.
Tickets can be purchased at the door for $7/ person or $25/ family.
As we prepare for the close of the school year, we like to thank parents during drop-off with bagels, fruit, coffee and conversation.
Please join us in celebrating the music of TNSM’s orchestra and the dance performance of our elementary students. We are thrilled to have Melissa Robinson, former NKU director of strings and TNSM parent, leading our orchestra program and to have Jeanne Speier, student of the renowned Katherine Dunham and recognized teacher of the Dunham technique and Balinese dance, leading our elementary students.
