The diversity committee will be meeting on Tuesday mornings from 8-9 AM in the Growing Room on Tuesdays through September. All are welcome to attend.
Interested TNSM friends, families and staff are invited to help with fall clean-up 8am until noon.
We will be spreading mulch in both the preprimary and elementary woods (50 yrds), cleaning out flowerbeds along the teachers’ parking lot and the Ginkgo House (E.C.).
Tools for parents to bring would be: rakes (leaf and garden) snow or grain shovels, pitch forks, tarps, wheel barrows or garden carts etc.
Bagels, fruit, coffee etc will be provided.
Alumni students and families: Contact the office at 513-281-7999 if you can help, so we’ll have enough snacks for everyone. (Current TNSM parents can sign up to attend via an email that was sent to them through SignUpGenius).

We have 12 parent board members each year who meet with administrative staff to help guide the business and mission of the school. You are welcome to attend TNSM Board meetings usually held on the 3rd Tuesday of most months.
(9-12) level students practice the independence and confidence they’ve built throughout the year in a new setting with new challenges at Camp Ernst. Students receive encouragement and cheers of support from teachers, classmates and parent chaperones as they wobble across rope bridges, glide through treetops on zip lines and rope swings, ring bells on climbing walls, paddle kayaks, and more. It’s a wonderful time to get to know one another better on this 2-day and 1-night adventure while watching students’ confidence soar as they reach one milestone after another.
Helen Adams (an alumni parent and professional photographer) will be taking school photos for The New School Montessori again this year.
There is no fee involved if you do not wish to purchase any photos. Your child’s photo will be taken and included in the annual yearbook, but it’s up to you to decide what (if any) poses you’d like to buy.
Helen Adams’ Goal:
“Say goodbye to the awkward school portrait. My mission is to bring authenticity and fun to school photography. I want to let kids be kids. Let them be sweet, funny or silly. Let them giggle and wiggle. These portraits won’t be stuffed in a drawer for the next 20 years. They will be displayed where they will bring a smile to the heart every time they are seen.”
Clothing should enhance the portrait and not distract from it. Try to avoid patterns, prints or stripes that are too bold. That being said, these portraits are meant to be fun so above all else, the clothing should be true to the subject’s personality and style.
