Thankful for the landscaping gift from our 2015 grads!

Each year, our graduating class of 6th graders makes a gift to The New School Montessori. The class of 2015’s generous donations allowed for this beautiful landscaping at the edge of the parking lot and the updates to the beds in front of the Mansion porch and Annex entrance. We are so grateful for their gift – and will be for many years to come.

Please join us for a fun morning of spreading mulch and cleaning up our campus.

An Audubon-inspired mural was created by kindergartners.

Teacher Jennifer Frank presented a brief history of John James Audubon. The children were impressed by the fact that Audubon was the first to paint every species of bird in North America. The class studied Audubon’s paintings and created a mural by pasting images of birds from magazines and their own drawn bird images among the tree branches, nests, bird baths and feeders.

Anneliese received a letter from President Obama.

The first day of school is exciting enough on its own, but for TNSM third grader, Anneliese, it soon became even more exciting! Last year, before the end of school, Anneliese chose to write to President Obama as her writing workshop exercise in Kira Hinkle’s classroom. On Tuesday morning, our postal carrier delivered a photo with a reply to Anneliese from President Obama.
