New School Montessori 6th graders presented their senior projects to their classmates during school and then again over Zoom to the broader community of parents, relatives, alumni and friends.
These presentations are the culminating moment of a year’s worth of research. Each 6th grader takes a deep dive into a topic of their choosing, learns how to cite sources, organize information, write a 3-chapter draft, edit, rewrite, repeat, until it is just right. Then they condense the information into a 5-minute powerpoint presentation. Students rehearse how to stand confidently in front of their peers and strangers, speak clearly, and present information in a way that is engaging and meaningful. We will miss each and every one of these remarkable 6th graders as they graduate from our program, confident, skilled, kind, and ready for anything! Way to go!
