St. Nick Day Explained

IMG_3317Quinn’s grandfather, Tom Donnelly, came to The New School Montessori to give a presentation on the German Catholic holiday called Saint Nicholas Day.

On December 6, people around the world gather to celebrate the memory of a generous man from Turkey who shared his wealth with needy families. The tradition of placing gifts in stockings was started when Nicholas placed his gifts in a family’s stockings they’d left drying by the window.

Tom brought stockings for the (6-9) level students to decorate. It was a very educational and entertaining presentation. Thanks Tom!
