Students in 4th-6th grade are ending their geology unit by testing minerals.

Anna and Abbia are using Mohs scale of hardness which ranks the hardness of minerals from 1-10. They used their finger nail, a copper penny, a steel nail, and a knife to see which minerals they could scratch.

Will is using the streak test by first predicting what color streak the mineral would make on the streak plate, and then recording the actual color.
