You are welcome to attend TNSM Board meetings usually held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. We have 10-12 parent board members each year who meet with administrative staff to help guide the business and mission of the school.
Students and families are invited to walk on a course through TNSM’s campus to raise important funds for the New School Montessori. Students will receive pledges from friends and family for their time spent walking. It’s fun for the whole family!
Please join us for our spring open house. Invite family, neighbors and friends to visit. Teachers, board members and staff are available to answer questions, to give tours and to facilitate the discovery process as children explore the environment.
Each year, 4th and 5th grade students, chaperones and teachers spend time visiting a location that is a bit farther from home than a simple field trip. Students plan their trip with their teachers and research the sights they’ll see. Each year we alternate between visiting Columbus’ museums and highlights or Marengo Caves in Indiana. In spring of 2018, students will be exploring the sights near Marengo Caves in Indiana.
You are invited to attend a free presentation at The New School Montessori by Bette Lamont.
Childcare is provided.

As we prepare for the close of the school year, we like to thank parents during drop-off with bagels, fruit, coffee and conversation.
For the past few years on the Saturday before Mother’s Day, we’ve enjoyed a hearty breakfast of pancakes, fruit and turkey sausage served by TNSM students.
It’s a great opportunity to visit with friends, alumni, neighbors and other TNSM staff and parents while also enjoying a fabulous art show of students’ work.
Tickets can be purchased at the door for $7/ person or $25/ family.

Each year, New School Montessori sixth graders embark on a year-long odyssey, researching a topic of interest to them. They condense their fifteen-page papers into riveting 5-minute oral Power Point presentations. In the span of a pleasant evening you can learn about many interesting topics and characters from history.
Our alumni often return to the school to support this year’s 6th graders. They’ve shared that their Senior Project experience prepared them – not only for the rigors of junior high and high school – but for writing, public speaking and the joy of learning they have experienced in their university studies and in their careers.
All are welcome to attend. It’s something special to see.
