Amazing developments are happening at The New School Montessori. This summer we will be adding a new preprimay (3-6) classroom due to an ever-growing waiting list to enroll. As Cincinnati’s only Montessori school accredited by the American Montessori Society, we are in high demand!
Now, if this wasn’t enough good news, we have more! John Hutton and Sandy Gross have been long-time supporters of The New School Montessori and have blessed us with sending three of their amazing daughters through our program. Both John and Sandy are passionate about education (Sandy being a trained Montessorian, and John – a physician specializing in reading and literacy). They understand the importance of early childhood development through the constructive hands-on approach of a Montessori education. When I shared our plans for the new space, I was delighted to see my enthusiasm was matched by theirs. We dreamed of the possibilities this new space will provide for children and families while also creating an enrollment model for the school that will allow our (6-9) and (9-12) environments to grow and flourish.
Now, imagine my jaw-dropping surprise when John and Sandy offered to match the fundraising efforts for the project up to $50,000. I am still pinching myself. This generosity provides a tremendous opportunity for our community. This year, toward the end of the auction, we will have a “raise-the-paddle” challenge to help support the construction of this new space. Every dollar pledged, up to $50,000, will be matched through Sandy and John’s charitable gesture. I encourage all of us to honor this opportunity by pledging your support, through small or large gifts, during “raise-the-paddle” this year. If you are unable to attend the auction, you can still give to this important project. An email will be sent out the week following the auction with a link that will direct you to an online-giving page.
