Continuing our conversations and deepening relationships

“The needs of mankind are universal. Our means of meeting them create the richness and diversity of the planet. The Montessori child should come to relish the texture of that diversity.”  ~ Maria Montessori

Moving into my second year with a child at TNSM and serving on the Diversity + Community Engagement Committee, I am continually inspired by and grateful for this community. This community is such a key part of what makes TNSM special – every child and every grown up brings a unique perspective and story to this journey. Last year, much of the work that the D+CE Committee focused on was around deepening – relationships, understanding, knowledge, all amidst the pandemic, social injustice, and environmental crises. We need to keep building upon the work that was done, while evolving to ensure we are bringing this community together to truly celebrate this special place that is full of unique individuals from staff and students to parents and beyond to the greater community.

So, I invite each of you to participate with us where you can – whether it is in the Community Conversations that we host throughout the year, through writing a post for the Diversity blog, bringing a question or topic to this committee to work through, or taking some of the resources and tools we will be sharing to incorporate into your family library or dinnertime conversations.

If you have an idea, topic, question or want to participate in any way, please reach out to the D+CE committee at our school email diversity@…
