Pendulum experiments help with motion and energy studies.

Annex students studied motion and energy and performed experiments with pendular motion. They first formed hypotheses to guess if changing either the angle or the length of the pendulum would result in a faster or slower swing time.

TNSM camping weekend!

outdoor adventures at school

TNSM teacher Robby Lewis and his family hosted an “auction sign-up party” at their farm in Kentucky. Parents brought side dishes for a potluck dinner while Robby’s family provided smoked pork shoulder as the main course. Everyone pitched their tents in the field, looked for crayfish in the creek, wandered through the woods, played by the pond, hung out by the fire, relaxed on the porch swing and gazed at the stars. Many thanks to the Lewis family for hosting this camping trip and to the families who signed up for supporting The New School Montessori.

Annual Giving 2015 – This Is the Place

Dear Friends, Forty-five years ago a group of parents were searching for a place to create a school that encouraged alternative views and challenged students to consider, explore, and think deeply about themselves and the world around them.  They found the Mitchell Mansion and knew, “This is the Place.” From that time in 1970, parents and staff have worked together to protect and nourish those same values in the lives of children.  Through long hours, generous donations and volunteerism, our founding community, and generations since then, have promised to keep the doors open for families looking for a school that …
