Sally Soderlund, (3-6) Ex-Day Teacher

Sally Soderlund has been an educator since graduating from Edgecliff College (now Xavier University) with a B.A. in art and education. From 2000-2008, Sally worked in the Kenton County School District, teaching kindergarten. She was instrumental in bringing their half-day kindergarten program to a full-day one. In 2010, Sally completed her masters in education from Xavier University in reading and art (K-12).

In addition to teaching in the Northern Kentucky school system, Sally has also been an at-home caregiver for a number of families, providing an enriching and nurturing environment for those children. She took the children on day trips (almost daily) to the zoo, museums, parks, pools and libraries. They also dedicated time each day to learning activities in the language arts, math and art.

Sally was introduced to The New School Montessori while caring for children of a New School family. Sally originally took on a part-time role in our Elementary Extended -Day Program, and this year she will be working with the Preprimary Extended-Day Program with West Room children. Sally is excited about her role in guiding and celebrating the creative efforts, productivity and spirit of her new friends.

Sally also enjoys her other work with Clinique laboratories and teaching aqua aerobics at the downtown Y.W.C.A.
