We said, “Yes.”

Hello Friends,

We are SO close to our goal.  Your support can get us there. If you have not given yet, this is the time to be a part of the future. This is the moment to make your mark. The New School Montessori needs all of us to do what we can to ensure that when we look toward tomorrow, it’s A Beautiful Vision.

Here are a few voices from our community, sharing why they have given.  If you have three minutes, you will not want to miss this tribute.

The Annex, which we are replacing with the Kaleidoscope Center, is over a hundred years old and has lived beyond its architectural intent. We are preparing for a bold, new, earth-friendly building. This extraordinary development will celebrate our connection with the earth and each other, while providing a space for students to explore their world through music, art, theater, dance, language and community building. Not only will the space be an epicenter for the arts and community conversations, but its construction will adhere to some of the highest earth-friendly standards in the industry. The building itself will serve as a teaching tool for students to learn how and why we need to take care of our planet. Furthermore, it will be a catalyst for a comprehensive “green school” initiative adopted at all levels and aligned with the National Association of Independent Schools. This space will transform lives and deepen our relationships with each other and our world.

Dr. Maria Montessori said, “The needs of mankind are universal. Our means of meeting them create the richness and diversity of the planet. The Montessori child should come to relish the texture of that diversity.”  A diverse community has always been a priority at The New School Montessori. The best way for us to live this value is to increase our Scholarship Endowment. Through our commitment to inclusion and nurturing a diverse community, we can show that we are more beautiful together, sharing different perspectives and honoring all of the colorful pathways that have led us here. Like a kaleidoscope, we understand that the smallest change in perspective can transform our views and turn our world around.

Through the Kaleidoscope Center and the Diversity Endowment, we have an opportunity to respond, with a positive force, to the challenges of our times. We have an opportunity to be a part of how the next generation will respond. Let us not be idle. Let us, with one voice say to our children and our children’s children, “When it was our turn, we said, yes.”
