A Learning Community

My last post included information about a professional development opportunity that faculty and staff recently shared.  In that post, I promised to provide more insights gained from the experience so that our learning could continue and we could support you, our reader, in furthering your thinking too.

First however, following a peaceful, joyous and refreshing holiday filled with thanks and good will, I’d be remiss if I didn’t share some thoughts about a recent experience our entire community shared prior to our Thanksgiving celebration and recess.

Similar to past years, our community came together and collected clothing and food items so that we could support those who are less fortunate.  With the recent hurricane along the east coast, we took the opportunity to “stuff the trailer” and provide much needed supplies to those who lost a little or a lot.  It was wonderful to hear and see this community- children, parents, staff and faculty, rally to support people whose situation is incomprehensible to most.  Such care gave everyone a real opportunity to more fully understand how we’re connected, how what we do at TNSM can impact others and how we can each play an integral part in making our world a better, more joyous and peaceful place. To learn more, click on or paste this web address into your browser and enjoy.  I expect it will put a smile on your face.
